- Bolt-on gas tanks for XL models are made of heavy-gauge steel with reinforced seams
- Come complete with extra-strong mounting tabs
- 2.9-gallon tanks are 2” wider than stock tanks
- 3.3-gallon tanks have “high-tunnel” design so they add fuel capacity without looking “tall”
- 3.3-gallon tanks may require seat nose modifications
- PART# DS-391220 uses a 3/8” NPT petcock, all others use 22mm; petcocks sold separately later in this section
NOTE: When this gas tank is installed on 92 and later models and the Original Equipment continuous venting system is eliminated or disconnected, you may not reuse your stock vented cap, but may replace it with an earlier version of the screw-type caps.
NOTE: 54-78, 82-94 tanks have petcocks on the right side, 95-03 tanks have petcock on left side.
WARNING: All tanks are shipped unpainted. Caps are not included unless noted. All gas tanks should be fitted, pressure-tested and sealed BEFORE being painted to eliminate potential problems.
